Market Analysis

The Cashew Club offers regular, reliable and timely analysis as well as fast updates on market events and trends in readable and accessible formats. We bring a global perspective and local knowledge. WE ask the questions that others may fear to ask. We see the market from the varied points of view of businesspeople, investors, regulators, policymakers and development professionals because we have worked in all of these roles in producing and consuming cashew countries.

Markets are not always what they seem. We must consider market dynamics and resulting motivations every time we read or hear a market report.  The Cashew Club data and analysis is built on a firm foundation. We have been collecting, analysing and presenting data on the cashew sector for more than 25 years. Our analysis has been a part of every African Cashew Alliance Conference and every World Cashew Conference. The ACA Global Market Encounter with Jim Fitzpatrick webinar was the first of its kind. More than 70 events have already been broadcast with guests from all over the World and inputs from hundreds of valued participants. We have worked in every almost every cashew producing country and we expand our friends and contacts every year. Through our global network, built over 30 years supporting enterprises and institutions, we have access to insights from stakeholders that supports the data and analysis.  We value knowledge, understanding, integrity and professionalism in all our activities.

Data

Market intelligence is crucial for making informed decisions and managing risks in all strategic aspects of a business or project. Data serves as the foundation of effective market intelligence.

Accurate, timely, trustworthy data is essential for understanding the value chain, discovering prices, identifying emerging market trends including buyers’ requirements and mitigating risk. Poor data or inability to analyse the available data correctly has been a key impediment to the development of the cashew sector. This issue impacts market decision-making, sales strategies, development support, policymaking, sector regulation and access to finance for stakeholders both public and private.

The Cashew Club database has been carefully built over the past 25 years. It was built by a painstaking daily process of information gathering and collection of statistics. It is regularly verified through a process that was tried and tested through years of market and consulting activity. We triangulate data from destination markets, origin producers and stakeholders to identify inconsistencies and inaccuracies. Our process of collection, interpretation, collation, analysis and reporting started as a labour of necessity. It has evolved into a quest for a transparent and efficient cashew sector.

Our deep understanding of the market enables us to identify market reports that represent specific interests, incomplete or politically influenced data from developing countries and data-gaps left by informal trade channels. The Cashew Club offers the first independent, publicly available, comprehensive market information system to stakeholders. Being well-informed about cashews is no longer exclusive to a select few.
